In the absence of technology, the ocean remains closed to humans, even though almost half of the human population lives near the coast. Our Open The Oceans program is focused on student design challenges, community building and content curation. As we increase our impact we will continue to deliver on our mission to ignite curiosity, passion, and lifelong learning through the exploration of Earth’s final frontier, the ocean.
OceanGate Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization founded in 2011 to achieve this mission, and we work with a variety of partners to do so.
Trained as an oceanographer after years banging around in a variety of water craft, Christian came to OceanGate Foundation after working in the research, education, and software technology sectors for 15 years. Christian is motivated to help inspire the next generation of ocean explorers.
